Challenge To complete the first installation at a U.S public school and teach the students more about our kinetic tiles. The install was initiated by an enthusiastic group from an AP Environmental Science class who focused on Pavegen as part of a presentation on renewable energy sources.

To complete the first installation at a U.S public school and teach the students more about our kinetic tiles. The install was initiated by an enthusiastic group from an AP Environmental Science class who focused on Pavegen as part of a presentation on renewable energy sources.

Solution An 8-tile installation within the school’s main entrance that powers educational boards and a phone-charging station. Using our wireless API, the tiles also collected information on the daily amount of footfall, displaying the real-time data on a screen.

Impact Soon after being granted and installed, the Pavegen project went national, gaining features on CBS News and Fox 59. The story reached nearly 2,000 shares in the first 4 days. The education sector represents a huge opportunity for Pavegen to educate and inform young innovators of the future on a readily available alternative to fossil fuels.
