Challenge To celebrate Earth Hour, a global phenomenon that involves millions of people worldwide switching their lights off for one hour, using an interactive installation at the ‘Dance 2 Power Earth Hour’ event in Singapore.

To celebrate Earth Hour, a global phenomenon that involves millions of people worldwide switching their lights off for one hour, using an interactive installation at the ‘Dance 2 Power Earth Hour’ event in Singapore.

Solution A 48-tile dance floor to power a number of applications from dancing guests, including a graphic of the Earth Hour 60+ logo that filled up as energy was created. Using the tile’s wireless system, live footfall data in the form of tweets was displayed on large screens, encouraging continual participation.

Impact The global event encouraged people to start thinking about the impact of energy on a worldwide scale. We maximised the project reach by integrating the WWF's Twitter account into the software to automatically tweet the energy creation to their 1.54M followers.
