THE CHALLENGE

Customer experience is an essential consideration of any retailer. With an increasing shift to online shopping, more than ever, retailers are looking for unique and innovative ways to bring brick-and-mortar stores to life. Mercury Mall wanted to drive footfall and create unique experiences for its shoppers whilst increasing downloads of its in-store app.

THE SOLUTION

By utilising customers’ footfall, the Mercury has placed visitors right at the heart of the shopping experience. Installing a clean energy-generating Pavegen array at the entrance of the mall, allows shoppers the opportunity to participate in an entirely new experience from the moment they step into the Mercury. As well as being able to generate off-grid electricity, users can now be rewarded for their sustainability efforts. Points earned from their steps can be redeemed at existing retailers within the mall, prompting loyalty and driving further footfall to the Mercury.

THE RESULTS

From now being able to offer visitors an entirely new experience, the Mercury has also been able to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability through a tangible outlet. By rewarding users for their steps alongside the integration of Pavegen, more downloads of their app can and is continuing to be achieved.
