Stepping into the Future: Pavegen Green Energy Solution Debuts at UEFA Champions Innovate Final

It's an electrifying evening for Pavegen as we gear up for the UEFA Champions Innovate Final Showcase at London City Hall. This momentous occasion marks the culmination of five months of intensive collaboration with Rockstar Energy, PepsiCo, and UEFA, all united by a common goal: tackling a green energy challenge for London, the proud host of the UEFA Champions League Final.
Our innovative solution? Transforming the footsteps of enthusiastic fans into electrical energy to power parts of the UEFA Champions Festival Weekend. Specifically, our kinetic energy solution will light up the Friday Night Show, a vibrant event hosted by Rockstar, featuring Rudimental as the headline act. This project not only highlights the potential of kinetic energy but also aims to boost sustainability awareness and fan engagement at future sporting and entertainment events.
At the heart of our pilot project is a 35 sqm Kinetic Dance Floor, set to be tested at Trafalgar Square's Champions Festival on Friday night, May 31st. As fans dance the night away, they will generate off-grid electricity to power the DJ booth and microphones, making Rudimental's performance a true celebration of sustainable energy.
The final showcase event will see each start-up presenting their innovative ideas and plans, developed in collaboration with UEFA's sponsors, to a distinguished panel of judges. Adding to the excitement, the event will be hosted by Sky Sports presenter David Garrido. Our goal has always been to create an innovative, measurable, and scalable solution, and we believe our kinetic dance floor has the potential to revolutionise energy use at major sports stadiums, music venues, and events worldwide.
While winning the showcase would be an incredible honour, our true victory lies in proving the concept. As the Olympic Creed beautifully states, "It's not the winning but the taking part that counts." We are proud of what we've achieved and are excited to share our innovation with the world.
