Showcasing TAQA’s Renewables Ambitions Through an Interactive Racing Game

The Challenge

TAQA, The Abu Dhabi National Energy Company, sought to engage event attendees in the UAE by showcasing its commitment to renewable energy and sustainability. With ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and achieve net-zero by 2050, TAQA aimed to raise awareness about the future of clean technology and sustainability. The goal was to connect with individuals interested in renewable energy and inspire action toward sustainable practices.

THE SOLUTION

Pavegen designed and built an eye-catching and stylish installation using strobe lights and gamification with the ‘ElectroShuffle’. The ElectroShuffle challenged visitors to use their best dance moves to generate the most real-time energy in competition with each other. Two Pavegen platforms allowed players to battle for the top spot on the leaderboard and compete for the chance to win tickets to next year’s festival.

LED-Powered Racing Game for Sustainability Awareness

To help TAQA connect with its audience, we developed a visually stunning and interactive installation, combining a virtual racing game with cutting-edge LED lighting technology.

 

Physical Installation:
The centerpiece of the setup was a 5 generator Pavegen activation with an interactive LED display, which illuminated in synchronisation with the gameplay, creating an authentic and immersive environment. 

 

Digital Experience:
We developed a fast-paced racing game where participants could compete to race around a track, powering a virtual car with their footsteps. Subtle messaging about sustainability and clean energy was embedded in the game's design, ensuring that the audience not only enjoyed the game but also walked away with a greater understanding of TAQA’s renewable ambitions.

 

 

Driving towards net-zero with Immersive Gameplay

TAQA’s interactive installation was designed to educate the public about the future of technology and sustainability. By providing a fun, engaging experience, the game fostered greater awareness of the company’s goals, including its commitment to achieving net-zero GHG emissions by 2050 and reducing GHG emissions by 25% across the group (33% in the UAE) by 2030.

Through this solution, TAQA could effectively enhance climate resilience messaging while connecting with a tech-savvy, environmentally-conscious audience, empowering them to join the journey toward a sustainable future.
