Pavegen and Tribal Planet worked to create a deeper engagement with Cisco’s brand and enhance its reputation in a fun and memorable way at its headline annual event.
We helped engage Cisco’s audience of IT specialists with its Social Impact programme in a lasting and engaging way.
Via Tribal Planet’s Citizen Earth app and screens, attendees could track their steps and see how much energy they were personally creating, simply by walking over the tiles. Daily winners would be announced via the app leaderboard and screens on-site.
Cisco’s goal was 1 million steps. The installation really caught the imagination of Cisco LIVE audiences,
The team doubled that target, capturing the energy of over 2 million footsteps.
Turning Footsteps into Climate action
In summer 2025, during London Climate Action Week, Pavegen partnered with 22 Bishopsgate - London’s tallest workspace and one of the city’s most future-focused buildings - to bring an interactive sustainability experience to the heart of its lobby. The goal was simple: show thousands of daily visitors that climate action can be intuitive, engaging, and collective.
At the centre of the installation was Pavegen’s kinetic walkway, transforming everyday movement into real-time impact and measurable climate storytelling.
Building engagement into the heart of 22 bishopsgate
With a constant stream of footfall passing through the lobby each day, 22 Bishopsgate had an untapped opportunity to transform routine movement into a moment of interaction. The challenge was to create something engaging enough to capture attention - yet seamless enough to sit naturally within the building’s fast-paced flow.
Pavegen delivered a full interactive installation built around engagement-first sustainability. The experience combined movement, impact, and storytelling in a space that sees thousands of steps every day.
installation features
- Kinetic Energy Floor: Converting footsteps into renewable energy in real time to light up LEDs
- Live Dashboard & LED Feedback: Tracking collective energy generation and tree-planting progress
- Campaign Signage & Digital Screens: Animated visual storytelling and live stats to show progress
- QR Code Integration: Links to tree-planting map
Together, these elements created an installation that was as visual as it was impactful — turning the lobby into a living, responsive sustainability moment.

GAMIFYING
SIEMENS PURPOSE
Pavegen is based in King’s Cross, in the heart of London’s tech revolution. We’re just a few minutes’ walk from King’s Cross and St. Pancras International Stations. Our research and development centre operates in Cambridge, the innovation hub of the country.
The difference every step made
The installation at 22 Bishopsgate turned an ordinary lobby into a mini movement festival. Across the campaign, visitors racked up over 200,000 steps, each one helping fund the planting of 1,000 trees.
And people didn’t just walk. They jumped, danced, skipped, and did whatever they could to squeeze out a little more impact. The live dashboard and instant feedback made it addictive—in the best way.
The real win? Sustainability suddenly felt fun and shared. Passers-by could literally see their contribution, making climate action something to smile about rather than something abstract.
For 22 Bishopsgate, it brought their community together around a common goal. For Pavegen, it proved once again that when you give people a reason to engage, they’ll show up—one joyful step at a time.
