PRESS RELEASE - London, January 2024
Festive Fun with a Purpose - Pavegen powers Santa’s’ gift giving and Milan Christmas Tree
Plenitude, Italy's leading green energy provider, partnered with Pavegen to transform Milan's Piazza Duca d'Aosta into a sustainable holiday spectacle from December 7, 2023, to January 7, 2024. This innovative collaboration not only celebrated the festive season but also highlighted Plenitude's commitment to net-zero emissions and renewable energy.
A Festive Challenge: Lighting Up Sustainability
Plenitude faced the exciting challenge of engaging the public in their ambitious net-zero goals. They aimed to make sustainability fun and accessible during the holiday season, creating an event that both entertained and educated citizens and visitors about the practical benefits of renewable energy.
Innovative Public Engagement
The "Sensation-On-Ice" village became the heart of Milan's festive celebrations, featuring an open-air skating rink, stunning displays, interactive games, and partner showcases. At the core of this experience was Pavegen's cutting-edge technology. Each footstep on Pavegen's kinetic tiles helped power a dazzling 18-meter-tall Christmas tree, turning steps into sparkling lights.
The Pavegen Plenitude Energy Game
Visitors were challenged to generate as much energy as possible in 30 seconds by jumping and sprinting on the kinetic tiles. This energy was used to light the Christmas tree and propel Santa Claus around town, delivering gifts. This interactive game was a hit, demonstrating Plenitude's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2040 in a fun and engaging way.
Community and Holiday Spirit
The village also offered street food stalls, photo booths, and a festive soundtrack curated by Radio Italia solomusicaitaliana, creating a vibrant holiday atmosphere. Additionally, a special stand collected gently used books and games, which were then donated to young patients and children in need, embodying the true spirit of Christmas.
Meaningful Impact and Data Insights
The event successfully raised awareness about Plenitude's sustainability goals, engaging thousands of participants in a hands-on demonstration of renewable energy. The Pavegen kinetic gameplay provided valuable data on total energy generated, participant numbers, and engagement duration. This data is crucial for measuring ROI and understanding public interaction with the brand.
Standing Out in the Energy Market
Plenitude and Pavegen's partnership showcases a unique approach to sustainability in the energy market. By offering interactive and educational experiences, Plenitude differentiates itself from competitors and appeals to climate-conscious consumers. Their commitment to sustainability and net-zero emissions is not just a goal but a journey illuminated by community energy, one footstep at a time.
